Lee Elson


Lee started his career in customer service before moving into property management, working in these areas between 2010 and 2021. During this time, he managed a range of operational and organisational risks, including maintaining high customer service standards, ensuring regulatory and contractual compliance, overseeing financial processes, and managing property-related risks such as maintenance, health and safety, and tenancy management. These roles required a strong focus on balancing service delivery with compliance, while building effective relationships with customers, clients, and stakeholders.

In November 2021, Lee joined DAP as an Assurance Officer, leading on audit assignments across District partners. In March 2023, he progressed to a Senior Assurance Officer role, supporting the Senior Assurance Manager in delivering the audit plan for Devon County Council. Through this role, Lee developed significant experience in assurance planning, management of staff, stakeholder engagement, and evaluating governance, risk management, and control frameworks.

In June 2026, Lee was appointed as an Assurance Manager, returning to the Districts to take on operational responsibility for audit plan delivery. In this role, he leads the coordination and delivery of assurance work, ensuring timely, high-quality outputs and effective engagement with partners.
