He is CISA certified and holds Project Management Accreditations for both PRINCE2 and Agile PM. Darren is a professional member of the BCS, the Chartered Institute for IT and was former chair of the BCS specialist group for Information Risk Management and Assurance, the first public sector colleague to hold the role. He was also a Public Sector AI Thought Leader in 2023 and has hosted panels on the Societal Risks of Generative AI. He has also provided technology risk assurance for previous instances of Local Government Re-Organisation.
Within DAP Darren is using his vast IT experience to support that area of Internal Audit across the partnership.
Outside of work, Darren has been a DJ longer than he has been an IT auditor and is currently working on a vinyl-based session project, which hopefully doesn’t involve any more late nights!
